Raised in
Riverside, Jana Furzer’s interest in art began early. Her first
classes were at four years old through the Riverside Art
Museum
and her freelancing started during high school.
After
graduating from Riverside City
College with a Graphic Arts Degree, she moved to Newport Beach and
completed her BFA in Fine Art with a scholarship to the Laguna
Beach School of Art as well as a Minor in Color Theory and Design.
Art education included classes through The Day School of San
Francisco in faux finishing and murals.
Her work
experience includes photography, custom framing, silk screening,
logo and graphic design, commercial signage, and 29 years as owner
and artist of Studio Works, a mural and decorative art company to
the trade. After moving to Menifee, she took the opportunity to
close Studio Works and get back to her studio.
Working in an
impressionistic realism style, Jana paints endangered and exotic
wildlife and southwestern landscapes in acrylics on canvas. She
sells privately, through her gallery store on EBay, The Animal in
Me, and through a site by the same name on Café Press. She also
continues to produce commissioned work and participate yearly in
Old Town Temecula’s Street Painting Festival every June.
Her original
and commissioned work can be seen in model homes, restaurants,
businesses, and hotels through out California, Nevada, Arizona,
Florida, South Carolina, and Washington, as well as in private
collections in Japan, Australia, Ireland, Canada, and across the
continental U.S. and Hawaii.
