Greg Maxwell, a native of Riverside, is a General Contractor who specializes in residential remodeling and renovations.  Greg enjoys being creative when working on custom tile and stone designs for kitchens, bathrooms and floors.  Greg is a member of the Riverside Art Museum and displayed a piece of his framed mosaic art work during the 2005 Member’s Exhibition.  Prior to that, he had mosaic work displayed at the Arts and Culture Grove at the 2005 Orange Blossom Festival where his wife, Cathy, and his daughter, Erin, shared a tented booth in the Grove.  Most recently, Greg has had work displayed at Back to the Grind in Riverside.  His works often reflect historical sites, wildlife and his love of sailing.  Greg lives in Riverside with his wife, Cathy, of 27 years and they have four artistically gifted children who have varying backgrounds in theatre, dance, music and mosaic art.

Cathy Maxwell of Riverside is a self-taught mosaic artist.  Although she has no formal art education, she has always had a strong appreciation for all types of art.  A few years ago, she began using the folk art practice of pique assiette ("broken plate") mosaic work on terracotta pots, picture frames and stepping stones.  She now enjoys creating framed mosaic work and covering various objects with mosaic art.  Last year, Cathy and her daughter, Erin, had work exhibited at the Riverside County Administrative Center for the Riverside Art Council's ongoing, biannual Artscape Exhibition.  In November, 2005, Cathy and Erin exhibited several mosaic pieces at the Division 9 Gallery's "Day of the Dead" exhibition.

Cathy's life adventures include her travels and volunteer work in Zacapu, Michoacan, Mexico in the mid-1970's, sharing the excitement of competitive Hobie Cat sailboat racing with her husband, raising four amazing children, many happy years being an involved mom with Riverside Children's Theatre and Ramona High School's Performing Arts Department, taking up kayaking and snorkeling in recent years and giving acting a whirl with Riverside Community Players.  Cathy has also worked as a Legal Secretary for the Office of the County Counsel for the last 15 years.  Cathy has a studio in the Life Arts Building, #32, and enjoys being a part of Riverside's "Arts Walk" on the first Thursday of every month.
