Lorien Suarez
of Riverside is a painter specializing in colorful abstract
compositions focused on geometric and organic forms. Her work
focuses on the beauty and allure of color, light and the dynamism
of forms inspired by iconography, mathematical principles of
geometry and designs found in nature. Through her compositions,
she builds layers of meaning about the many transformations that
occur in life and natural history. Her thematic investigative
series includes Wheel within a Wheel, Living Water, Loving Union,
Rayuela, Spirals, Ethereal forms
and Organic Forms. These investigations encompass the visual
arrangement of coalescing and expanding energy that are expressed
as elaborate designs with geometric structures and patterns of
movement.
Lorien was raised in Venezuela and
moved with her family to
Oregon
as a teenager. Ms. Suarez holds a
BA Summa
Cum Laude
in History from UC Berkeley and an
MA Cum Laude in European studies
from the Katholieke
Universiteit at
Leuven
in Belgium. She attended graduate programs at the
Universidad de
Salamanca, Spain, in History and in Business Administration at
ESADE in Barcelona Spain.
