Nora
Unrath discovered her love of drawing at an early age. She taught
herself the art of portraiture and worked for many years as a
portrait artist while raising her four children and volunteering
at their school, teaching art. During this time she also designed
a small line of greeting cards. When her youngest child started
middle school, Nora decided to return to college and complete her
degree. She graduated from California State University, San
Bernardino with a B.A. in Studio Art.
Nora, her
husband Gregg, and their teenage children attend The Grove
Community Church where they have been involved with the high
school missionary trips. Nora has used her love of photography to
capture the essence of these trips and as inspiration for
paintings. She has painted everything from animals on preschool
walls to a portrait of Amelia Earhart for the library at Earhart
Middle School.
The theme
of Nora’s orange uses recognizable “icons” of modern art with a
touch of humor to show how art is an integral part of our culture
and encompasses all ages, ethnicities and walks of life.
